Is it really “HAPPY” Thanksgiving?

Here’s how I look at it, maybe you will too

Is it really HAPPY Thanksgiving (Canadian Thanksgiving) or are have we been getting that wrong?

To hear many people talk about it, “Happy” is about parties, sports, and eating – lots of eating. Probably overdoing it too. This Canadian Thanksgiving I’d like to offer you an alternative wish – Be Humble on Thanksgiving.

You see it’s only with humility that we can accept kindness and show appreciation. And that’s the very definition of gratitude, “extending favor towards or giving grace and kindness as a response”. Saying “thanks” just isn’t really enough then, is it?

So, while we surely want people to enjoy their holiday with family and friends, don’t we also want them to extend favor and kindness to them too?

Don’t we want to live, as Zig Ziglar said, with an “Attitude of Gratitude”? And doesn’t living with gratitude change your life?

I mean… How can you be unhappy when you are grateful? How can you be angry when you are grateful. How can you be depressed when you are grateful?

So today, when so many have war and we have peace.

When so many are hungry, and we have abundance.

When so many are lonely, and we have friends.

When so many are broken, and we are whole.

Despite our troubles, aren’t we blessed beyond all understanding? Don’t we have so much to be grateful for?

So today, I humbly thank all of you for your support.

To my clients for their business.

To my colleagues and friends for their help.

To my family for their love.

And to my God for His grace.

I am grateful beyond words and blessed beyond measure.

Thank you. God bless you all.
